Donald married Marjorie Schroeder in Janesville on May 28, 1949, and he was a member of Mt. Calvary Lutheran Church. Donald attended Janesville schools and worked for the City of Janesville Public Works Department for 40 years before retiring in 1986. After retirement, he continued to work as an attendant at the City of Janesville compost site for 12 years. During his younger years, Don enjoyed playing softball and hockey and still enjoyed following the sports, but he was especially fond of cheering on the Chicago Cubs. He also enjoyed fishing, playing pool, camping, and watching the Packers play. Don was a very happy go lucky person who loved to tell stories to anyone. He was a wonderful husband and father, who worked hard to provide for his family as they were most important to him. He was a member of the Loyal Order of Moose. He is survived by his wife; and 4 children; 3 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren; 4 sisters; 2 brothers; many nieces, nephews and many friends.
