He is survived by his wife of 68 years, Christine E. Adams, whom he married on November 25, 1939.
Virgil is also survived by three daughters; Linda Skinner, Marilyn Riddles and Mary Peelman. He leaves behind one brother, Calvin Adams, his grandchildren; Tray Skinner, Connie Skinner, Heather Riddles, Brian Peelman, Steven Peelman, Gary Phillips, Bobby Phillips, and Don Phillips. He is also survived by 17 great grandchildren. He is preceded in death by both of his parents and one daughter, Marjorie Phillips.
Virgil was a devout member of the Lindsay Church of Christ, and his faith steered his life. As a young man, Virgil and his parents, and siblings, farmed in Lindsay. Later Virgil worked, and retired from the Civil Service, as a machinist at Tinker Field, AFB. Virgil took great pride in his work, and numerous professional achievements.
Our family wishes to thank the employees of the Lindsay Hospital for their effort, and kindness. Services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday March 24th, at the Lindsay Church of Christ.
Virtue, honesty, and humility, were Virgil's garments. Happiness, love, and forgiveness, were Virgil's gift to others.
Funeral arrangements are under the direction of B. G. Boydston Funeral Home. Condolences may be sent to the Adams family online at www.boydstonfuneralhome.com.
