KENDALLVILLE - Andrew Wade Barker, age 46, of rural Kendallville, died at his home on Sunday, August 26, 2012. Andy was born in Marion, Indiana, on December 12, 1965, to Daniel R. and Joyce Eileen (Fraker) Barker.

He graduated from East Noble High School in 1984 and from Stanford University in 1988 with a Bachelor of Arts and History degree. Andy was an executive vice president over sales for Custom Lights in Garrett for 25 years.

He loved making memories and spending time with his children. They especially remember all of the trips West they took together.

Andy dedicated much of his life to coaching at East Noble High School. He was a volunteer coach for football and track for 16 years.

He loved reading historical and biographical books and he enjoyed working out and staying in shape at the YMCA in Kendallville. Andy was truly a man who genuinely loved people. His life's focus was to help kids that came from underprivileged homes. Andy also attended First Presbyterian Church in Kendallville.

Survivors include his children, Kylie and Ryan Barker of Westler Lake near Wolcottville; his mother and father, Joyce and Dan Barker of Kendallville; his brother, Dr. Tom Barker of Arlington, Texas; his niece and nephew, Anandi and Kieran Barker of Arlington, Texas; and close friend, Charlene Moore of Butler.

Visitation will be Thursday, August 30, 2012, at 11 a.m. at Trinity Church United Methodist at the corner of State and Rush Streets in Kendallville. There will be an hour of visitation before the service. Officiating the funeral service will be the Rev. Scott Pattison, the Rev. Stan Kessler, and the Rev. Ken Weaver. Burial will be at Lake View Cemetery in Kendallville. Preferred memorials may be made to the Andy Barker Memorial Fund at East Noble High School.
