MINAR—In Ellisburg, N.Y., April 25, Captain Abram Miner, aged 82 years

Capt. Abram Miner was born in the town of Ellisburg May 7 1815. When 12 years-of age he commenced sailing on the great lakes. He was a captain when about 20 years of age. Sailed about 40 years. After leaving the lakes was a farmer till about 1870, when he moved to Ellisburg village, where he resided till his death, April 25. He was a man widely known, and much respected. In his last sickness he was affectionately nursed? and cared for by his wife and daughter, who have the sincere sympathy of hosts of friends in their great affiction. Funeral at his late home Wednesday, the 28th inst., at 2 p.m.

He was the son of John Minar, Sr., and his wife, Catherine (Colon) Minar. Their children were:

1. Christian, born December 16, 1803, died September 16, 1804.

2. Henry, born April 11, 1806.

3. John, February 15, 1811.

4. Ann Eliza, March 22, 1813, died 1873

5. Abraham, May 7, 1815.

6. Lydia. April 1, 1818.

7. Lyman February 19, 1822.

8. Catherine, June 16, 1825.

9. Norman, June 11, 1830, drowned November 21, 1846.
