Mrs. Emma Catherine Aungst, eighty-three, widow of Henry M. Aungst, died at 10:30 a.m. yesterday at her home, 847 E. Orange St., of infirmities of old age. She was born in East Hempfield Township, a daughter of the late John M. and Elizabeth Smith Bemisderfer. She was a member of the Salunga Brethren Church. The following children survive: Elmer B., Columbia; Laura, wife of Samuel Troupe, Lancaster, with whom she resided; Mary, wife of Edward M. Shellenberger, Mountville; Amy B., Lancaster; Amos, Philadelphia, and Louella, Philadelphia. Six grandchildren and four great grandchildren also survive. (Lancaster New Era - Apr 9, 1942)
