His obituary in The Cortez Journal reads: Courtland Chester Fellers, 84, died Sep 18, 2000 in Mancos. Mr. Fellers lived in the area since 1969. A memorial service will be held at a later date and cremation will occur at Hood Mortuary Crematory in Durango.
Mr. Fellers was born Dec 28, 1915, in Denver, the son of Clinton and Ruth Fellers. He met and married Dorothea Elizabeth Fellers in 1944. He was an active member of the ranching community and a member of both the Breen and Marvel grange halls. He also was a member of the Colorado Mounted Rangers and a community 4-H leader.
He is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Pamela and Doug Ramsey of Hesperus; daughter, Judy Seidel of Las Cruces, NM; grandchildren Cassie and Travis Ramsey of Hesperus; Jud Wright of Las Cruces; Jill and Linda of Las Cruces; and Nancy; and many great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Dorothea Elizabeth Fellers, and a brother, Byron Fellers. Memorial contributions may be sent to Alzheimer's Disease Association, Rocky Mountain Chapter, 789 Sherman St, Denver, CO 80203.
