A service will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Salas Brother's Funeral Chapel in Modesto for Dorothy Sophia Sass, 89, who died Sunday in a local hospital. Burial will be in Pleasant Grove Cemetery in Sigourney, Iowa.
Mrs. Sass was a native of Burlington, Iowa, and had lived in modesto since last year. She was a life member of the Order of the Eastern Star and a past matron and was a musician in her early years. She attended the Congregational Church.
Survivors include a son, William H. Stirlen of Manteca, six grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
