Ethel Singley was born in Flovilla , Georgia in 1898 and was the 2nd of 12 children born to  James Thomas Singley  and  Laura McClure.

In about 1917 the family joined the LDS Church. Within a short time the entire family moved from Georgia to Utah and then to Idaho where they settled in the farming community of Ammon.

Ethel met Willard Ball a brother to one of the LDS missionaries who had visited her family in Georgia. Ethel and Willard were married and had 13 children.

Ethel and Willard married in 1919-1920 in Ammon. They were later married in the LDS Temple in Logan, Utah on June 28, 1924

Ethel and Willard raised 13 children on their farm home in Ammon. Ethel kept a large vegetable garden and would can vegetables and fruits for her family. They raised farm animals for their own consumption.


Later in her life after her children were raised Ethel worked sorting potatoes, cutting and planting. She also worked at the LDS
Hospital in the food kitchens.
