The daughter of James and Nellie (Dagan) Hoyting,Lillian was born 17 May, 1888 in Thomaston Ct. She attended Thomaston schools and by all accounts was well liked and very popular. Her father died when she was 10 years old leaving her mother to raise her Her, brother Edward and younger sister Grace. In 1910 her mother married Dwight Woodruff and the family moved to his dairy farm on South Street in Plymouth Ct. Sometime around 1913 , Lillian contracted TB and was sent to Gaylord Farm Sanatorium in Wallingford Ct. She was treated by Dr David Russell Lyman , whose work in TB was considered "cutting edge ' for the time. Lillie was released from GFS on the 8 Sept 1913, which also was her Wedding day. She married her childhood sweetheart Joseph L. Reeves from Thomaston Ct at the Most Holy Trinity Church in Wallingford. The ceremony was presided over by Rev. Joseph A. Degnan. She never returned to Plymouth Ct. Lillian and Joseph took the train to NYC for their honeymoon and then headed for their new home in Crystal City Texas. It was hoped that the milder climate would help Her to recover from TB's long term effects. Unfortunately , her health began to decline rapidly. Lillian died one year later at the age of 25. She is buried at the Edgewood Cemetery in Crystal City.
