Henry was the husband of Hannah Mariah Bennett. They married Jan. 17, 1805 in Ohio County, Kentucky. The following children are believed to be theirs: Nancy J., John Bennett, Richard, Charles W., Sarah Ann, William Fletcher, James Axley, Mary Elizabeth, Martha Green, Susan, Henry T., Lydia Charlotte, Rachel, Ellen, and Althea J. Stevens.

Henry Stevens was active in No Creek Church being a steward for 56 years. Henry died as the result of injuries when a horse fell with him.

Henry Stevens was a stone-cutter. Many of the old sandstone markers in the different cemeteries of the area have "H. Stevens" inscribed near the base.

Uncle Henry Stevens and his sister Mrs. Belt are still fresh in the memory of the writer. His strong sense and his stronger will made him as firm as a rock and as obstinate as a mule. Honesty, frugality, benevolence, and industry were the rules of his life, which was prolonged in unusual mental and physical vigor to an extremely old age.
