William Henry Culp may not be resting in this exact location but actually may be out in the field next to the homestead.
At one time the cemetery had been located in the field on the property. When Evalena was elderly, she hired a man to move her husband's remains closer to her house so she could tend his grave, unable to then make the trip into the field.
We're told that this man took her money and only moved William's monument (later replaced with the double stone pictured here)
If William was ever actually moved, we're not sure but Evalena was buried in the new location at the time of her death so it is possible they finally had his remains transferred for her.
A large cedar tree had been planted there beside them but the ice storm destruction in 2009 was more than the old tree could handle and it had to come down as did many of the cedars in the area.
The rest of the burials remain unknown though I have added memorials for them here. Perhaps one day we will know who they were.
