Mrs. Myers was the daughter of Michael and Christina Sowers, and was born March 14, 1830, in Davidson county, North Carolina. With the family she moved from North Carolina and settled on a farm three miles southwest of Wallace in 1839.
She was reared in that community and lived there her entire life. In 1849 she was married to Elijah Myers. To that union four children were born Elizabeth Myers, Mrs. Thomas Allen, Lorenza Myers and Mrs. Phebe Newlin the latter having died a number of years ago. She has twelve grandchildren, and 22 great grandchildren and one great great grandchild. She was a Lutheran from infancy in North Carolina, and became a member of what is known as the Myers Lutheran church in Indiana, and was a member until she died.
The funeral was held at the Myers Lutheran church at 11 o'clock Thursday in charge of Rev. I Whitman, of Versailles, Ohio, a former pastor here.
