Mr. Lowery had been in ill health for three years, but had continued to work until three weeks ago. He was the son of the late Henry and Laura Lowery of North Carolina.
Surviving are his wife, the former Miss Myrtle Vandyke and five sons; Henry of Perkins, W.Va., Floyd of Lex, W.Va., Sam, Lozine and Howard, all of Red Ash. Three children preceded him in death.
Also surviving are seven brothers: Robert of Hartwell, W.Va., Will of Robinson Creek, Ky., Floyd of Greenville, Tenn., Newt of Cranes Nest, Va., Hazle of Johnson City, Tenn., Tom and Charlie of Red Ash; and nine grandchildren.
