M. Hazel Conley, 90, of Cherokee, died Saturday, October 21, 1995, at St. Luke's Hospital at Sioux City, following an extended period of poor health.

She was born June 28, 1905, at Larrabee, to Peter and Julia Pierce Collister. She attended school in Cherokee and graduated from Immaculate Conception High School. She worked for Northwestern Bell Telephone Company in Cherokee for several years.

On January 13, 1927, she married Jamess. R. Conley at Sioux City. He preceded her in death on March 12, 1995. She was a member of the Parish Caring Group, Ladies Union, and the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church.

Survivors include one son, Robert, of Cherokee and one daughter Joanne and her husband, Vince Specht of Las Vegas, Nevada. Also two sisters: Ellen Chiles and Mildred Collister, both of Cherokee; seven grandchildren; and fifteeen great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband; two brothers, Leo and Tom; and a daughter-in-law, Sharon Conley.

Services were held Wednesday, October 25, at 10:30 a.m. at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Cherokee, with Rev. James Smith officiating. Burial was in the Mount Calvary Cemetery at Cherokee. A prayer service was held Tuesday at the Greenwood Funeral Home, Cherokee, which was in charge of arrangements.
