NEWSPAPER Issue of Saturday, April 11, 1903 During a thunder storm at Bell Mills last Wednesday morning John Boman, an eight year old son of Mr. and Mrs. J.J. Boman as struck by lightning and instantly killed, and Mrs. Boman was severely shocked. The lightning struck a stove flue on John A. Brown's store house, demolishing it, ran down the stove pipe into the store and tore up the floor, thence under the house occupied by Mr. Boman. The family were in the east room of the house and were sitting around the fire when the stroke of lightning came. Mrs. Boman and Tom, an older son, were severely shocked and other members of the family slightly shocked.
