Dorene Lee Annis, 71, of Seneca, MO., was called home to be with her heavenly Father, July 19,, 2004, after a long illness.
Dorene was born Feb. 19, 1933 to John Henry Collins and Dora Ann Taylor Collins. Both preceded her in death.
Dorene was a long time resident of Seneca, where she met her husband, Claude B. Annis. They were married May 3, 1954. He preceded her in death. James Michael Annis, her son, preceded her in death also.
Dorene worked at St. Johns, Econ. Security, and was a dispatcher for the Seneca Police Department, and was also a court recorder. She did various jobs including the raising of five children who survive: Becky Crawford, Seneca; Sherry Kent, Alba, MO; Michelle Mitchell, Carthage, MO, Claude Annis Jr., KS, and William Annis, New Mexico.
She is also survived by 18 grandchildren: Brandon Annis, Seneca; Samantha and Timothy Crawford, Seneca; Matthew Crawford, Clinton, Mo; Misty & Leah Crawford, Odessa, MO; Danielle Crawford, Lamar, MO; Joshua Doll, Butler, MO; Kayla & Jacob Kent, Alba, MO; Bradley Annis, KS; George Corral and Veronica Gonzales, AZ; Joshua Gonzales, Kansas City, MO; Robert Corral, KS; Lisa Gonzales, Tulsa, OK: Kim Sanchez, Jeff Mitchell, Carthage, MO; and eleven great grandchildren.
Visitation will be Thursday, July 22, from 6-7 p.m. at Mason Woodard Funeral Home. Funeral services will be Friday at Bethel Baptist Church at 10 a.m. Rev. Fred Mills and Rev. Greg Snow will officiate. Burial will be in Seneca Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be grandsons: Brandon Annis, Joshua Doll, James Yarbrough, Ted Conklin, Ashley Davis and John McGonigle.
