Obituary:
Mr. George Allan Myntti, 75 of Cleveland, formerly of Blackshear, passed away Friday, August 24, 2012, at the Northeast Georgia Medical Center in Gainesville.

Born in Worcester, MA on February 3, 1937, he had lived in Blackshear for many years before moving to Cleveland, GA in 2011. Mr. Myntti retired from the US Navy after 20 years of service. He was a Chief Petty Office and served during the Korean Conflict and also during the Vietnam Theater. Mr. Myntti was a member of the Helatkltron 3 Seawolves and was on the Combat Air Crew Honor Roll.

George was a member of Tesnatee Baptist Church in Cleveland and was a former member of First Baptist Church in Blackshear where he had been in the Misfits Sunday school class and had served on the Bereavement Committee.

George had been a volunteer with the Pierce County Food Pantry and was a member of the Pierce County Hunting Club. While in Cleveland, he became a member of the Weekend Gold Miners Club.

George was a loving husband and father. He was a son of the late Wilbert & Mildred Hawksworth Myntti and was also preceded in death by his brother, Peter Ivan Myntti.

Survivors include his wife of 51 years, Patsy O'Steen Myntti of Cleveland; two daughters and sons-in-law, Tammy & Philip Pushic of Charleston, SC and Brenda & Nick Dispensa of St. Cloud, FL; 4 grandchildren, Wesley Myntti, Darby Pushic, Nicholas Pushic and Frank Dispensa; his aunt, Bertha Haskett of Dunnellon, FL, and several nieces, nephews & other relatives.

Memorials may be made to the Pierce County Food Pantry, 722 Jane Street, Blackshear, GA 31516.

Visitation:
Visitation for Mr. Myntti will be held Monday evening from 6 until 8 at the funeral home.

Service:
Funeral services for Mr. Myntti will be held Tuesday afternoon, August 28, 2012, at 1:00 o'clock from the Pearson-Dial Chapel.

Cemetery:
Interment will be in the Winn-Thomas Cemetery.
