Carol Maynard Blackburn, age 62 of Naugatuck, West Virginia passed away Saturday, August 25, 2012, at Kings Daughters Medical Center in Ashland.
Born December 9, 1949, in Pike County, she was the daughter of the late Harmon Bill Maynard and Sarahann Robinson Maynard.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by three sisters, Nell Cauley, Ina Mae Bostic and Elmo Williamson, and a brother, Clinton Maynard.
Survivingis her husband of 44 years, Cedric Leon Blackburn, her daughters, Bessie Marie Blackburn, Ruby Ann Blackburn both of Naugatuck, WV., and Betty Workman of Delbarton, WV., one son, Edward Leon (Beth) Blackburn of Debord, KY., her sisters, Winfred Young, Annie Alene Stanley and Geraldine Muncie all of Pikeville, KY., one step-grand daughter, Kelsey McCoy, and one grandson, Terry Lee Workman, Jr., and a host of nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday, August 28, 2012, in the chapel of the Phelps and Son Funeral Home. Brother Will Ruthven will officiate. Burial will follow in the Golden Shores Memorial Garden at Coldwater, Inez.
Friends may visit from 5 to 9 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
