Biography
Veneta Mae Orgain was born June 16, 1924 at home near Hammon, Oklahoma to Bessie Ruth (Allee) and Ocie Elrid Bailey. She passed away October 6, 2010 at Clinton, at the age of 86 years, 3 months and 20 days.

She graduated from Pie Flat School in 1942 and was married to James Corbett Orgain at Cheyenne, Oklahoma on August 1, 1942. They lived in Moorewood before moving to Strong City in 1946. Two children were adopted to this union, Shirley Ann and James Elrid. Quilting was only one of her many talents. She loved riding horses, was an avid gardener, lover of flowers and plants. She also owned and operated the Orgain Plant Farm. She joined the Strong City First Baptist Church October 23, 1955. Veneta taught Sunday School and acted as song leader among other posts. She loved to sing and was a member of the Roger Mills Chorus. Veneta was a leading light for her family. She never forgot a birthday or special occasion. The Lord and her family were her life.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and a brother.

She is survived by her daughter, Shirley Ann Johnston and husband, Harold, Arapaho, OK; her Son and Daughter-In-Law, Jim Orgain and wife, Sherri, Cheyenne, OK; 7 Grandchildren, Cris Blackketter and wife, Patsy, Sherry Bieberich and husband, Adam, Levi Blackketter, Jayme Trask and husband, Zach, Jason Orgain, Harold Johnston, Jr, and Renee Nichelson, 5 Great Grandchildren, Cara Eaton and husband, Doug, Kadin Bieberich, Krissie Nichelson, Cami York and husband, Tracy, Brandi Mitchell and husband, Kevin D. 5 Great Great Grandchildren, Jeramia, Jace, Cooper, Peyton and Kevin A. Special Care Givers on Redbud Way at Grace Living Center, and a host of other relatives and friends.

Funeral Service Saturday October 9, 2010, 2:00 pm at Strong City Baptist Church
