Margaret's family was among the first settlers in Aspen, Colorado. She touched the heart of many when a special meeting of the Cowenhoven hose company met for the purpose of receiving a crayon portrait of her grandfather, H.P, that she had drawn at the age of 6.

Daisy almost lost her life to scarlet fever in 1894. Her grandfather, H.P. Cowenhoven, died in 1896; grandmother, Margaret Cowenhoven, in 1897; and her mother, Catherine, in 1898. In spite of the troubles she went through, she was often listed in the paper involved in dances, plays, and parties. She attended public school in Aspen After the death of her mother, in August 1898, she joined her sister and Nannie Canning to attend school in Paris. Her father took them to get them situated and stayed for 6 months.

She was an Aspen heiress, inheriting millions from the Cowenhoven and Brown families.

She married Francis Justus Toulmin who was born in Hackney, London, England, in June 1872. He died in 1950.

They had two children that I could find:

1. Mary Helen Toulmin 1921 -
Married: Evert Van't End 1920 - 1943
Child ? Van't End 1944 -

2. William Francis Cowenhoven Toulmin 1925 -

It seems that they lived most of their lives in Europe. She died in Rougemont, Vaud, Switzerland.
