George Wesley Marr Jr., 39, of R.R. 2 Pleasant Plains died June 4, 1971 after the semi-truck he was driving for Interstate Breads was involved in an accident. He was born December 14, 1931 in Louisville Kentucky the son of George Wesley and Audrey May Marcum Marr. The family later moved to the Sangamon County Illinois area where he grew up on the family farm. He graduated from New Berlin High School in 1949. In addition to being engaged with the family farm George served as a deputy sheriff for Sangamon County for many years before going to work for Interstate Breads. He also served as a school bus driver for the New Berlin School District.

He is survived by his wife, R. Jeanette Leadill Marr, his 3 children, Randolph "Randy" of New Berlin, Renea and Rachelle both at home; his parents George and Audrey Marr of New Berlin; two sisters, Mrs. Marjorie Sebring of Springfield and Mrs. Melissa Ciota of Morris and one brother Thomas Marr of Rural Pleasant Plains. Several nieces and nephews.

George especially enjoyed boating and woodworking. He had a special place in his heart for family and friends and will be missed by so many.
