Arvilla May Allen Farnsworth, 93, died August 21, 1997 in Glendale, Arizona.
She was born in 1904 in Salt Lake City, the daughter of Louis and Maude May Jenkins Allen.
Survivors include four children: sons, Garwin A., Irvine, California; Keith A., Sunnyvale, California; Marty D., Peoria, Arizona; and daughter, Wendy (Mrs. Rick Morejon), Glendale, Arizona; 18 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; two brothers, John P. Allen, Fruit Heights, Utah; and Bruce Allen, Bountiful, Utah. She is preceded in death by her husband, DeLin Farnsworth and her daughter, Cherie.
Arvilla was a noted musician and former soloist with the Tabernacle Choir, having sung with the Choir at its first radio broadcast. She wrote and directed 30 roadshows, many with original music, as well as a three-act operetta, "Oh, Dear Me!". She toured as an actress and singer throughout the Intermountain West with her husband DeLin and The Imperial Players. She retired in 1969 after working for many years for the Utah State Highway Department. The last 14 years were spent with her daughter in Salem, New Hampshire and in Scottsdale and Glendale, Arizona.
The viewing is Mon., August 25, at the Ensign Third Ward building, 9th Avenue and K Street at 1 p.m. followed by a memorial service at 2 p.m. Interment at Wasatch Lawns Memorial Gardens. Funeral directors, Evans & Early Mortuary.
