C. A. Adkins, devoted husband, loving father, grandfather and man of God, age 79, Green Mountain, NC, passed away on Friday, August 24, 2012 at his residence. Mr. Adkins was a native of Yancey County, NC and a son of the late Clifford and Linnie Williams Adkins. He retired in construction as an Iron worker and was a U.S. Army Veteran where he served in the Korean War. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by a sister: Ozella Banner.
A Funeral service for Mr. C. A. Adkins will be held at 7:00 PM, Sunday, August 26, 2012, in the Chapel of Valley Funeral Home. Brother Freddy Stapleton and Brother Danny Honeycutt will officiate and Honorary Ministers will be David Faulkner, Reed Bagley and Paul Ault. The family will receive friends at 5:00 PM until service time on Sunday, August, 26, 2012, in the Chapel. The Committal service will be at 11:00 AM, Monday, August 27, 2012, at the Randolph Family Cemetery at the home place. Everyone please meet at Valley Funeral Home at 10:00 AM on Monday to go in procession.
