Richard Francis Behrendt 1934-1983

Richard "Dick" Behrendt was born to George and Ida Behrendt in Chicago, Illinois. He was one of four children born to George and Ida. His siblings included: brothers, George Jr. and Bob, and one sister, Lorraine.

He married Grace Corbin in 1958, and adopted Danny, Janice, and Phyllis. He was a kind man and did his best to be a good father to this ready made family. He had been raised in a very strict Catholic home. After marrying Grace he learned the value of family bonds and compassion.

Dick was a teacher in the public school system at the time of their marriage. He was able to further his education with Grace working to help support the family.

After completing his schooling, Dick began working for the government as a counselor for the Job Corp, in the mid 1960's. Prior to his death he had worked up to the position of Head of OEO (Office of Economic Opportunity) over 4 states, one being Colorado, where he and Grace settled.

He and Grace divorced in the 70's. Dick then married Sherilyn Daniels.

His death came at a young age due to a tragic accident on one of the mountain roads in Colorado.

He is loved and missed by his family.
Rest in Peace Daddy, I love you.
