Mr. Freeman, a retired conductor for the Illinois Central Gulf Railroad, died at 4 a.m. today in Southwest Regional Medical Center following a lengthy illness. Born Jan 30, 1885, he was a native of Clio, La. He was a member of Central Baptist Church in McComb and was a Mason. He made his home at 704 Third St. at the time of his death.
Survivors include his widow, Mrs. Elnar Mercier Freeman; four daughters, Mrs. Robert Carruth, New Orleans, La.; Mrs. Dick O’Keefe, Mrs. James T. Bongard, Whittier, Calif.., Mrs. J.C. Avant, Moss Point; three sisters, Mrs. Ida Isom, Mrs. Howard Campbell, both of Hammond, La., Mrs. Ann Johnson, Marshall, Tex.; and a number of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
The Rev. Curtis Williams will officiate assisted by the Rev. H.P. Porter. Graveside rites will be said in Hollywood Cemetery with Hartan Fueral Home in charge of arrangements.
