Gloria Stapleton Hogan died in Gainesville, Florida on November 20, 2011. She was born in Fernandina, Florida on September 20, 1927. She was the daughter of Philip Errington and Carmen Noallas Stapleton. Her father was Mayor of Fernandina and very active in civic affairs.

Mrs Hogan was graduated from Fernandia High School and Florida State University. She was a lifelong member of St Peter's Episcopal Parish where she taught Sunday School and volunteered in the church office. She was President of Fernandina Beach Women's Club and was instrumental in the bulding of the current clubhouse. Her career as a Spanish teacher at Fernandina Beach Junior High School gave her great pleasure and joy. Her students were always very important to her. Rarely did she go anywhere in Fernandina without meeting former students. Mrs Hogan was a member of Alpha Delta Kappa teaching sorority for many years.

Mrs Hogan was married to William M Hogan for 51 years before his death in 2000. She was a loving and caring mother to her daughters, Carmen H Courson Leslie H Knight and her son-in-law John E Knight, III.

Services will be held on Friday, November 25, 2011 at St Peter's Parish at 3:00 pm.

The family will receive friends Friday in the courtyard at St Peter's from 2:00 pm until the hour of service.
