CAMPER, Gordon Wilson, 70, of Roanoke, passed away Thursday, November 25, 1999.

He was a member and Chairman of the Board of Deacons of New Testament Baptist Church. He was also a member of the Gideons East Camp. He was retired from Orkin and had worked part- time for Pinkerton Security for several years.

Surviving are his wife of 50 years, Sarah Chittum Camper; children and their spouses, Wilson and Barbara Camper, Larry and Lucinda Carr, Timothy and Mysie "Kitten" Camper, Charlie and Nanette West, Nathan and Martha Camper; 15 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; sisters, Ernestine Heizer and Edna Reid.

A memorial service will be conducted 3 p.m. Sunday, November 28, 1999 at New Testament Baptist Church with the Rev. J.E. Edwards and John Long officiating. Graveside services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Monday, November 29, 1999 in the Franklin Memorial Park, Franklin County. The family and friends will assemble at Oakey's Vinton Chapel at 10 a.m. Monday.The family suggests memorials be made to the American Cancer Society. The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Saturday and Sunday at Oakey's Vinton Chapel.
