John was probably William's son, but I have found no evidence to prove the relationship. He's not on the 1850 Census, but is on the 1860 Census with the family.

William Lusk and John Lusk both enlisted the same day in the Union Army in Company A of the 1st Alabama and Tennesse Independent Vidette Cavalry. They were captured just a month later at Hunt's Mill and sent to Libby Prison in Richmond, VA.

Died as a prisoner of war in Libby Prison.
