Altavista -- Mont Hubbard, age 58, died at his home Tuesday.

He was born in Pittsylvania County March 09, 1910. He was a son of Mont and Emma Walker Hubbard.

He was president of the Altavista Concrete Products, past president of the Altavista Rotary Club, past president of the Va. Ready-Mix Concrete Association, past president of the Altavista Chamber of Commerce. He served as an artillery officer in World War II and was discharged with the rank of Colonel.

He was a holder of the Bronze Star and a graduate of VMI class of 1902. He was a member of the Parents Council at VMI.

Survivors included his wife, Mrs. Josephine Hindman Hubbard of the home; four sons; two daughters; two brothers, Robert Hubbard and Gilbert Hubbard, both of Chatham; seven sisters, Mrs. Charles M. Leek, Nashville, Tenn.; Mrs. T. A. Parrish, Chatham; Mrs. Washington Taylor, Norfolk; Mrs. Clyde Bennett, Spartansburg, S.C.; Mrs. John M. Robinson, Goshen, N.Y.; Mrs. Robert Perry, Montgomery, Ala.; Miss Hazel Hubbard, Warm Springs, Ga.; and one grandchild.

The Catholic Liturgy of the Day of the Burial will be said at the St. Victoria Catholic Church. Burial will be in Green Hill Cemetery. A Rosary will be said at St. Victoria. Finch and Finch Funeral Home.
