Samuel Moore died at the residence of his son-in-law, Henry Miller, in Clearcreek Township, Fairfield County. He was born in County Tyrone, Ireland, in April 1802. He was united in marriage in 1821 to Miss Margery Glass, who was also born in County Tyrone, Ireland in June 1796 and died November 12, 1893, just two monthes preceding her husband's death. aged 97 years, 6 months. They migrated to America and settled in Philadelphia, PA in the year 1853. Three years later they moved to Hocking County, Ohio, where they remained until 1860, when they moved to Colerain Township, Ross County, Ohio. Here they continued to reside on their farm near Hallsville, until two years ago, when they were taken to Stoutsville where they might bavo the care of their only daughter, Mrs. Henry Miller. To this couple were born eight children, six of whom are living, Edward, James and William in Kansas, Matthew in Ross County, Ohio, David and Mrs. Henry Miller near Stoutsville, Fairfield County

Samuel Moore family migrated from Ireland set sail from Londonderry, Ireland aboard the Yankee Clipper sailing ship "Hannah Crooker" leaving about May 6, 1853. This ship sailed to Philadelphia, PA.
