Luella Nicholson Abernathy and W.P. Abernathy raised my great-grandfather Cicero Egbert Lane as their adopted son Bert Abernathy. Luella Married W.P. on December 1, 1887 in Collin County, Texas. There was one daughter born to this union, Mary Lou [who I am told married someone by the last name of Ferris]. Luella's parents were both born in Tennessee.
