Henry L. Nims was born July 24, 1882, near Emerson and passed away April 28, 1973, at Glen Haven Rest Home in Glenwood.
His life's occupation was farming and he had lived the last 45 years in the Strahan area. He was an ardent supporter and fan of the Strahan community activities, particularly the school activities.
He was a member of the Strahan United Methodist Church.
Preceeding him in death were his wife, Willie L. Nims in 1968 and a daughter Mrs. William A. Harriman in 1961. Survivors include two sons, Wayne of Indianapolis, Indiana, and Dale of Imogene; two daughters, Mrs. Byron Reed, Omaha, Nebraska and Mrs. Opal Bayes, Emerson; one brother, A. Dwight Nims, Van Nuys, California, eight grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives and a host of friends.
Funeral services were held at the Strahan United Methodist,
church Monday, April 30, at 2 p.m., the Rev. Clarence Wool1lard, officiant.
Casket bearers were Wm. A. Harriman III, Darrell Bayes, Robert Burns, John Nims, Robert Dickey and Larry Opal. Car attendants were John Bayes and Victor Norton, and ushers were, Virgil Curtis and Charles Wilson.
Music was furnished by Harva Hillyer, organist, and Mr. and Mrs. Robert Christenson singing "Face To Face" and "The Lord's Prayer." Caring for the floral" tributes were Mrs. Virgil Curtis, Mrs. Ronald Kier and Mrs. Charles Kayton. Mrs. Charles Wilson was at the registry book.
Interment was in the Malvern Cemetery with Mansfield Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
