Harold Dean "Bizz" Aspseter
1948-2010

Harold "Bizz" Aspseter passed away on July 11, 2010, after a courageous 15-month battle against cancer.

Bizz was born to Harold and Veda Aspseter on June 28, 1948, in Ladysmith. He married Judith Blomberg on April 1, 1967, in Exeland, where they resided their entire life except for the few years they lived in Cottage Grove, Minn.

He has six children: Kimberly (Jerry) Quinn of Bruce, Dean Aspseter of Elroy, Lisa (Chad) Holum of Bloomer, Jodi Bach of Goodhue, Minn., Bethany (Jack) Nelson of Iron River and David Aspseter of Menomonie.

Bizz was known as a hard worker. He started by picking beans to owning his own excavating business by the age of 18. He then decided to sign with Edward Kramer & Sons, where he worked diligently for 34 years to provide for his family and was very proud to retire at the age of 55. At that time, he began developing other small businesses in the Exeland area such as Lakeview Mini Storage and Aspseter Salvage. He enjoyed telling stories to the grandchildren, cooking for the hunting crew and fishing. One of his fondest moments was a trip to Lake Michigan with the boys. He also loved spending time at the cabin with family and reading about the Great Lakes. He will be recognized for his support of local baseball, as he will be inducted into the Exeland Baseball Hall of Fame on July 18, 2010.

He is survived by his brothers Clayton (Jeanette) Aspseter of Exeland and Ed (Wanda) Aspseter of Weyerhaeuser; his sisters Janet (Ben) Burcalow of Spokane, Wash., Sharron (Ray) Villiard of Wausau, and Sue Leader of Exeland; his grandchildren Morgan (Dan), Taylor, Dahlton, Levi, Bailee, Marti, Masen, Kennedy, and Koy; his great-grandchild Arie Robers; and Porky, a dog whom he loved.

Bizz was a good friend to many, and a respected community member.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday; July 14, at 11 a.m. at the Exeland United Methodist Church with Kenneth Wundrow officiating. Burial will be in Windfall Cemetery in Exeland. Friends may call after 4 p.m. on Tuesday at the Nash-Jackan Funeral Home in Bruce and on Wednesday for an hour prior to service time.
