Robert Dunlap, DSN 4291, badge number 566, received his commissioned as a Saint Louis Police Officer on 12/11/1961 and entered the Saint Louis Police Academy. After completion of the academy on 03/09/1962 Officer Dunlap's 1st uniformed assignment was in the 4Th District on 03/10/1962. On 07/22/1963 he was transferred to the 7Th District. On 07/29/1964 Officer Dunlap resigned his commission to seek employment in the private sector. Officer Dunlap served 2 years, 7 months, and 14 days of faithful and dedicated service to the Saint Louis Metropolitan Police Department. Mr. Robert Dunlap subsequently became a successful businessman by owning and operating a Barber Shop in the City of Manchester Missouri and later by owning and operating multiple retail businesses out in St. Charles County Missouri.

Officer Dunlap was a veteran of the United States Army and achieved the rank of Specialist 4Th Class and served with distinction in the 82nd Airborne.

Bob Dunlap, born March 20, 1939, at rest October 7, 2017. Beloved husband of Glenda (nee Melton) Dunlap, beloved father of Jane Montileone, cherished grandpa to grandchildren Leah and Nick Montileone, dear brother of Rich Darrow, and dear brother in law of John and Sue Martin.

After graduating high school Bob proposed to Glenda and they married in 1959. He enlisted in the US Army and the couple was stationed at Fort Bragg in North Carolina. Bob served honorably and satisfied his need for excitement by becoming a paratrooper in the 82nd Airborne. Bob then became a Police Officer for the Saint Louis Metropolitan Police Department before owning and operating a barbershop in Manchester MO. After cutting hair for a few years, Bob decided to go into the retail liquor business, successfully owning and operating multiple stores under the name BJ’S Liquor. He eventually sold all but one store, located on Central School Rd in St Charles. Bob was a mainstay of the local community, running his business there over 30 years. His gift of gab and love of socializing blessed him with many friends and acquaintances throughout the St Charles area.
Bob spent most of his time nurturing his businesses, but in his free time enjoyed watching football and baseball, and travelling with his friends and family.

Son of the late Mr. Eugene Dunlap and Mrs. Marjorie D.(nee Robinson) Darrow.

Visitation will be held on Monday, October 16, 2017 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Hutchens-Stygar Funeral and Cremation Center located at 5987 Mid Rivers Mall Drive, St. Charles.

A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, October 17, 2017 at 11:00 AM also at Hutchens-Stygar Funeral and Cremation Center.

Burial will follow at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery, 2900 Sheridan Rd, St. Louis.
