George Fox was born in Frederick County, Maryland on October 8, 1771. He married Mary Magdalena Etzler on January 11, 1819 in Frederick County. They had five children: Juliana, Jeremiah, Arthur, Mary Jane and Francis Melvin Fox.

George died on December 12, 1842, and was buried at Grace Rocky Hill Lutheran Church Cemetery (aka St. Peters).

George was married first to Anna Elizabeth, whose maiden name is not known. It is believed their children were Johann Philipp, Anna Catherine, and Susannah.

Per F-A-G contributor, S. Wolf: George Fox's will names ten children: Jacob, George, Jeremiah, Francis, Emelia (wife of Ignatius Jacobs), Elizabeth (wife of James Mumford), Catherine (wife of John Leakin), Susan (wife of Lewis Albaugh), Margaret (wife of Doctor William Baker), and Juliana, who later married George Wachter.

ON 1 Feb 1845, sale was made to Jacob FOX at $3,553.92, subject to the widow's dower. Closed 20 Sep 1845.
