Merlin J. Wiesner, age 82, of 2263 Park Ave., New Holstein, died Tuesday,
September 1, 1998, at his home.
Funeral Services will be held at 11:30 a.m. Friday, September 4, 1998, at St.
John United Church of Christ, New Holstein. Rev. James E. Werner will officiate
with burial in the Evergreen Cemetery, Reedsville.
He was born April 7, 1916, in New Holstein, son of the late George P. and Theresa
Theis Wiesner. On November 8, 1942, he married Lois Bartel. She preceded him in
death in 1968. On September 20, 1969, he married Berniece Schilling. Merlin had
been employed at the former Arps Corporation in New Holstein as Production
Supervisor. He had also farmed in the Pigeon Lake area of Manitowoc County for
18 years. He was a member of St. John United Church of Christ in New Hosltein(sic)
where he was very active in the church functions.
Survivors include his wife, Berniece, New Holstein; two daughters, Judy Wolfe and
her fiancé, Ivan Christensen, Gillett, Joan (Richard) Dewey, Two Rivers; three
sons, John (Liz), New London, James (Jeanette), Manitowoc, Jerome (Sandra), Milwaukee;
21 grandchildren; six great-granddaughters; one brother, Art Wiesner, Valders; one
sister, Marion Rusch, Random Lake. He was preceded in death by his parents and his
first wife, Lois.
Friends may call on Friday, September 4, 1998, at St. John United Church of Christ
in New Holstein from 9 a.m. until the time of service.
A memorial fund will be established in his name.
The Sippel Funeral Home, New Holstein, is assisting the family with funeral
arrangements.
