He had served 33 months with the United States Army during World War II and participated in battles at Normandy, Northern France, Ardennes and Rhineland. He had received the Central European American Theater Service Medal, the European African Middle Eastern Theater Service Medal, the Good Conduct Medal and five battle participation stars.
He is survived by his wife, his mother; five sons, three daughters; three half-brothers and one half-sister.
