Kenneth R. Wallace 81, of Beloit, WI, died Wednesday August 22, 2012 in his home. He was born May 19, 1931 in Bloom City, Richland County, WI, the son of John and Hazel Woodard Wallace. He was a 1949 graduate of Richland Center High School. Ken married Elizabeth "Betty" Stafford on January 11, 1951 in Richland Center, WI. He was the Assessor for the Town of Turtle in his early years, and worked for Lock Joint Company before purchasing McGilvra Electric in 1979. Ken designed and manufactured equipment for McGilvra Electric. His classic line was "I can fix anything but a broken heart". Ken was an active member of the Rock Valley Chapel, Turtle Grange, Beloit Noon Lions, Blackhawk Car Club, Toast Masters, EASA and NEBA. He enjoyed being an Antique Car enthusiast, a farmer at heart, traveling with his wife and restoring cars and tractors.
Ken is survived by his wife of 61 years, Betty; his children, Beverly Ingolia of Clinton, WI, Barbara Correll of Beloit, WI, Betty Sue Sager of Rockton, IL, K. Daniel (Gloria) Wallace, Cynthia (Dan) Gander and Linda (Tim) Holcomb all of Beloit, WI; 16 grandchildren, Tim (Tiffany) Ingolia, Amanda (Drew) Sir, Jon (Jill) Ingolia, Christin Ingolia, Sonya Nicholson, Beth (Dan) Roman, Benn Sager, Kristofer (Jami) Wallace, Trevor (Kelsey) Wallace, Nate Wallace, Dan (Anne) Gander, Katie Gander, Megan Gander, Samatha (Jon) Engelhardt and Abbey Holcomb; 21 great grandchildren; two brothers, Larry Wallace of Richland Center, WI and Jerry (JoAnn) Wallace of Rockton, IL and a sister, Nellie Thompson of Richland Center, WI; three brothers-in-law and three sisters-in-law; many nieces and nephews and friends.
He was predeceased by his parents; grandson, Kenneth Shawn Nicholson; two sisters, Eileen Weeden and Audrey Marshall; brother, John "Jack" Wallace; two sons-in-law, Charles Ingolia and Thomas Sager.
A Celebration of Ken's Life will be 11:00 a.m. Saturday, August 25, 2012, in the Rock Valley Chapel, 2780 Shopiere Road, Beloit, WI with Reverend Dr. Timothy Johnson officiating. Interment will be in Shopiere Cemetery, Shopiere, WI. The family will greet friends and relatives on Friday, August 24, 2012, from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. in the BRIAN MARK Funeral Home, 1000 Inman Parkway, Beloit, WI and Saturday from 10:00 a.m. until time of service in the church.
