Nuclear physicist. Also designed, together with Einstein, a refrigerator without moving parts. Was granted US Patent on a nuclear reactor (jointly with Enrico Fermi) in 1955. Became a leading peace campaigner. A portion of his ashes are buried in Lakeview Cemetery, Ithaca, New York, alongside his wife.
