Warren Lafayette Westbury, 74, a retired welder with Applied Engineering, died Saturday in a Charleston nursing home. The funeral will be at 1 p.m. Monday in Thompson Funeral Home in Orangeburg. Burial will be in Crestlawn Memorial Gardens in Orangeburg. Mr. Westbury was born in Orangeburg County, a son of Herman H. Westbury and Rosamond Grace Hook Westbury. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Orangeburg. He was a Marine Corps veteran of World War II and a former member of the National Guard. Surviving are his wife, Suzanne Wetherington Westbury; a daughter, Rosamond W. Page of Mount Pleasant; three sons, Warren L. Westbury Jr. of Lumberton, N.C., Dan H. Westbury of Neeses and John D. Westbury of Ladson; two sisters, Mildred Geiger and Gwen Sheck, both of Orangeburg; 12 grandchildren; and a great-grandchild. © The Post and Courier, Charleston, SC, 8 Feb 1998
