Marie Baxa was born in Koryta Bohemia (the Parish of Bezdekov) on November 9, 1853. She was raised by her mother Anna Baxa and her step-father Jan Cech. Known siblings of Marie are: Josef Baxa (1857-1857), Josef Cech (1861-1862), Antoninne (1865-1908) Hauser and Anna (1863-1940) Zahut. Marie married Josef Sulda on November 10, 1879. The family came to the United States on 'The Main' on May 1, 1880 and lived in Chicago. Marie and Josef had 8 children. Anna (1879-1937) Langer, Willie (1880-1880), Mary (1882-1913) Stanek, James (1884-1953), Joseph (1887-1958), Emilie (1890-1894), Bessie (1892-1932) Triner and Emily (1895-1967) Hallas Jedlicka.
