A celebration of life will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday, July 11, 2000, in Bennett Chapel United Methodist Church for Eliza A. "Polly" Hascall, who died July 3 at age 93.

Mrs. Hascall was born Dec. 25, 1906, in Marmot. Her maiden name was Bechill. She was raised in the Brightwood and Gresham areas, graduated from Gresham High School and attended college in Monmouth. She taught elementary school at Pilot Rock. She was a homemaker who moved to Portland and held various jobs, including mail handler with the U.S. Postal Service until her retirement. She was a longtime member of the church. In 1927, she married Virgil E. Hascall; he died in 1973.

Survivors include her daughter, Joanne Gornick; sons, Virgil Jr. and Roger; sister, Winnie Griffin; nine grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.

Interment was in Finley's Sunset Hills Memorial Park. The family suggests remembrances to her church. Arrangements are by Finley's Sunset Hills Mortuary.
