Services Held For Candace DeAnn Campbell
JET - Services for Candace DeAnn Campbell, 16, were at 2 p.m. Monday in the United Methodist Church with the Rev. Bryan Spivey and the Rev. Billy Holland officiating.
She was buried in the Pleasant View Cemetery at Jet. Arrangements were under the direction of the Grapes Funeral Home of Cherokee.
Miss Campbell died early Saturday in an Enid hospital from injuries sustained in a traffic accident a week earlier. She was born Sept. 30, 1964, at Liberal, Kan., and moved with her parents, Donnie and Wanda Campbell, to Jet in 1967.
She was a junior at Jet-Nash High School, where she was a reporter for the 4-H Club and secretary of the Gifted and Talented Class. Miss Campbell was a member of the Future Homemakers of America, the Pep Club and the Letterman's Club, the Honor Roll and on the staff of the annual and the school paper.
She was president of the Alfalfa County 4-H Horse Club, a member of the board of directors and a reporter for the Oklahoma Junior Paint Horse Association; and alternate member of the board of drectors for the American Junior Paint Horse Association; member of the board of directors of the Northwest District 4-H Horse Council; a member of the Oklahoma Junior Quarter Horse Association and the American Quarter Horse Association.
In addition to her parents at Jet, she is survived by her maternal grandmother, Mrs. Lillian Tucker of Cherokee; her paternal grandparents, Don and Irene Campbell of Jet. She was preceded in death by her maternal grandfather, Clyde Tucker.
Her family has suggested that those who wish make contributions in her memory to the Candace Campbell Scholarship Fund or the Methodist Church Youth Fellowship Memorial sontributions may be made through the First State Bank, Jet, or through the funeral home.
