The Forgan (OK) Advocate, November 23, 1933:

Mary Alice REEVES was born November 25th, 1861 at Carden, Iowa and departed this life from her home in Gate, Oklahoma November 16th, 1933. If she had lived until the 25th day of this month she would have been 72 years of age.

She was united in holy wedlock to C. E. KIRKHART August 21, 1881, at Sandyville, Iowa. To this happy union were born six children, three sons and three daughters. Tow of the daughters preceded the mother in death and during the interm between the time of their going and the death of the mother, they have been waiting for her across the line which separates them from eternity. Mrs. A. ALMSTEAD and Perle KIRKHART of Gate, Oklahoma; C.B. KIRKHART of Anaheim, California; and L. R. KIRKHART of Dodge City, Kansas, with the families remain on the side of that line to mourn her loss. But they all trust that their loss is her gain.

Mrs. KIRKHART was reared in a Christian home. The sterling qualities of simple honesty, sincerity of purpose and transparency of character were dominant. This gave to her a splendid and permanent background for character building. Thus the Word of God became a potent factor in her life and she endeavored to make it the main of her council. She was especially fond of the twelfth chapter of the message of Paul to the Church at Rome - as fine treatise as can be found in any book of any library on the all important subject of Scriptural Consecration. If sister was here now - if she could come to us with a final message, she would admonish all her friends and loved ones to read, devour, and thoroughly digest the entire content of this beautiful scripture.
