Robert Blaseg, 15 year old son of Mr. and Mrs. Walter Blaseg, former residents of Ree Heights, now of Fort Pierre, was killed Saturday when the car he was driving failed to make a curve north west of Fort Pierre.
Investigating officers said he missed a curve on the Mission Ridge road sometime before noon Saturday. A companion, Tommy Harris, also of Fort Pierre, escaped serious injury.
Funeral services were held Monday afternoon at the Widdoss Funeral Home in Pierre, with burial in Morningside Cemetery at Ree Heights. Rev. Roger Ralph, of Fort Pierre, conducted both services.
Pallbearers were Gene Turbell, Gerald Holloran, James Knight, Leslie Knorr, Richard Jones and Gale Hudson, all schoolmates. His entire class, the eighth grade of the Fort Pierre Junior High, and several instructors attended the services in a body.
Robert was born in Miller on January 2, 1941. The family resided on a farm near Ree heights until about a year ago, when they moved to Ft. Pierre to make their home.
Surviving his tragic death are his parents, a brother, Verlin, and a sister, Marla, all of Fort Pierre.
