JOHN J. ALGE, 51, died at 10:30 a.m. Sept. 15, 2000, at his residence.

He was born Nov. 6, 1948, in Fostoria to Ray D. and Bernice M. Karns Alge. On May 2, 1970, he married Joyce A. Kromer, who survives.

Mr. Alge worked as an inspector/assembler for 32 years at General Dynamics plants in Fostoria and Lima. He was a member of United Auto Workers Local 2075. He was a member of the Methodist Church. He was a volunteer soccer coach for the YMCA and Bath schools youth programs. He was a 1966 graduate of Fostoria High School. He was an Army veteran of the Viewnam War.

Survivors also include a son, Jason J. Alge of Columbus; two daughters, Jill R. Alge of Moultrie, Ga., and Jennifer A. Alge at home; two brothers, Mike Alge of Fostoria and Tim Alge of Covington; and three sisters, Gloria Tusing of Jacksonville, Fla., Mary Alge of Fostoria and Betty Alge of Sidney.

He was preceded in death by a son, Jamie Alge; a brother, Richard H. Alge; and a sister, Theresa Alge.

Srvices will begin at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Stombaugh-Batton Funeral Home, Carey. The Rev. Ernest Waechter will officiate. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery, Carey, with military rites.

Friends may call from 6 to 9 p.m. Monday at the funeral home in Carey.

Memorial contributions may be made st St. Rith's Hospice or Hospice of Wyandot County.
