Model, Actress. An attractive blonde, she is remembered as "Playboy" magazine's Miss April 1979. Born Amanda Hodges, she was raised in her state's capital, competed in the Little Miss Mississippi Pageant at 10, became a skilled motorcycle rider from an early age, and shortly after finishing high school was 'discovered' when she answered an advertisment for "Playboy" models. Following her centerfold appearance she had several movie turns in the early 1980's, making her 1980 silver screen bow with "Cheech & Chong's Next Movie". In 1981 she was in an episode of "CHiPS" and on the big screen had hits in "True Confessions" and "Blow Out", though her time in the latter was brief as she was murdered in the shower during the opening scene. Missy was at some point married to an Al Cleveland, saw her image in a number of magazines thru the 1980s, was to be a popular guest at memorabilia and autograph shows for the rest of her life, and lived in Southern California, Canada, and Florida before returning home where she worked as a property manager and was active in the Van Winkle Baptist Church. She was seen in two "Playboy" retrospectives and died of an adverse medication reaction. Billed as "Missy Cleveland" for "Playboy", she was "Amanda Cleveland" on the screen; some of her films are preserved on DVD.
