JAMES L. CREWS

Funeral services were held Thursday afternoon at 1 o'clock at the graveside in New Zion Cemetery near Lake Butler for James L. Crews, 59, who died December 27, following a brief illness.

Mr. Crews and his family moved several years ago from Baker County and made their home in the Heilbronn section where he was engaged in farming. He was born in Lake Butler and was a member of the Methodist Church.

He is survived by his widow, Mrs. Elizabeth Crews; four daughters, Jeannette Crews, Heilbronn; Mrs. Odessa Hood, Jacksonville, Mrs. Edith Rhoden, Glenn St. Mary, and Mrs. Gertie Crawford, Lawtey; nine sons, Ray, Howard, R. C., Rudolph, and Randolph, all of Starke, Enoch and Raemer, both serving in the Army, B. J. Crews, Lawtey, and Leslie Crews, Louisiana; one brother, John Crews, Lake Butler; and three sisters, Miss Viola Crews and Mrs. Ollie Hodges, both of Lake Butler, and Mrs. Ruth Collins, Jacksonville.

Rev. Jim Williams officiated at the funeral services, and arrangements were in charge of DeWitt C. Jones.
