Fern M. DeWeert, age 84, died, May 29, 2009 in Wisconsin Rapids. Fern was born February 9, 1925 to George and Bertha (Rehwinkle) Quick in Wausau. After she graduated she worked at a factory in Chicago.
Fern married Gordon DeWeert in February of 1946 and they had 44 wonderful years together. They had two sons, Doug and Dan. Fern was a loving mother, grandma, great grandma and friend. She loved to fish, hunt, playing cribbage and poker machines. In retirement Fern and Gordon spent their summers in Parrish, Wisconsin and the winters in Butler, Alabama.
Fern is survived by her two sons, Doug (Lana) DeWeert of Kimberly and Dan DeWeert of Montana, a daughter-in-law Mary (Dan) Shepard of Wisconsin Rapids, two sisters; Alice Westphal and Eunice Frank, ten grandchildren and fourteen great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Gordon, her parents and eleven siblings.
A funeral service for Fern will be Tuesday, June 2, 2009 at 12:00 P.M. at Hildebrand~Russ Funeral Home. Visitation will be at 10:00 A.M. until the time of service.
