John E. Gammon Sr., 62, passed away unexpectedly Tuesday, Aug. 24, 2004, at his residence.

He was born in Old Town, Dec. 14, 1941, son of the late Edward M. and Bessie M. (Jackson) Gammon.

John lived a simple life as he was an avid outdoorsman enjoying fishing, hunting and gardening. He was self-employed in the logging industry since he was 17 years old.

John will always be remembered for his generosity towards others and his ever present kind smile. He enjoyed spending time with his family and going for long drives.

He is survived and will be sadly missed by his loving wife, Priscilla of three years and companion for 15 years, two sons, John Jr. and his wife, Terri, of Greenbush, Kevin and his wife, Bobbi, of Greenbush; one daughter, Tracy Pehrson and her husband, Dennis Jr. of Old Town; two stepsons, Jason Russell of Brewer, Justin Russell and his wife, Krystal of Bangor; eight grandchildren, Christy, Tara, Brittany, Tiffany, Alisha, Derek, MaKayla and Colby; three sisters, Betty Costigan and her husband, Terry, Linda Garceau and Dale Lugdon; many nieces, nephews, cousins and special friend, Eddie Haverlock Jr. of Greenbush.

In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by a sister, Nancy Stoddard and a nephew, Shane Costigan.

Friends may call 7-9 p.m. Wednesday at the Birmingham Funeral Home, 438 Main St., Old Town, where a Celebration of Life will be conducted at 11 a.m. Thursday with the Rev. Gary Turgeon officiating.

Burial will be held at Cardville Cemetery in Greenbush immediately following the service.
